When the light was good enough for the Canon D-60's not so good auto focus, that's what I used. No compression, mostly ISO 800, often underexposing 1/2 stop for insurance against highlight blow-out. When the sun set, I pulled out the Canon 1D with it's fabulous low light auto focusing ability, same set-up, occasionally rated ISO 1000, but mostly 800. All with the 20-35mm f/2.8 lens, which becomes an effective 32-56mm on the D-60, and I find that to be absolutely ideal for my way of working the street. Better for me than having the huge and heavy 28-70 on a full frame SLR. Love this D-60/short-zoom set-up for the street. Never had better. The 1D's size and weight starts to be a pain after a while, but in low light, nothing better. Same lens becomes 28-49 on it, which is also fine, since at night I tend to work closer to the subject. 6, 31, 32, 33, 35, 36, 37 and 39 were made with the 1D. The rest with the D-60.
