Mr. Robert Bateman is back in Calgary from his trip to Toronto. He informs me that the gravel deal is not yet completed, and that only if the terms are agreeable will it go through. He is expectng some faxed documents on the matter today. If a deal is signed, the news release will come out sometime next week (didn't I say the same thing last week?!).

On the matter of the March 31, 1997 financials, I was told they are already done. Since I hadn't seen anything in the way of a news release or mail, I assumed it hadn't been filed. I stand corrected; Mr. Bateman graciously offered to mail the info to me. He will be getting the June 30, 1997 quarterly report done in the next little while.

Possible cash flow in the future includes an oil and gas play north of Red Deer, most likely as a JV of some sort. One company working an area is privately-owned, and would like to do a JV with a public company such as DAK (for funding, etc.). Since nothing has been signed, Mr. Bateman was not at liberty to give out any company names yet. News on these developments expected in a couple weeks or so.

Properties in the NWT: No intention to explore/work them since market is depressed. Mr. Bateman hasn't seen results from adjacent companies' exploration programs, so he sees no point in touching them at all.

Mexican properties: No intention to explore/work them. Possible royalties to provide cash flow from a company which may take over and work the properties.

I've put in a few orders in the mornings to sell, but I still own all my shares since the sellers have lowered their prices throughout the day, and the bid-ask gap is wide.

Ben.
