If I don't find a job in the semiconductor industry soon, (it's in the midst of a terrible contraction, I get emails from buddies in the USA and UK often) I can always return to Joe Corals I guess. It's easy money.

Mind you, I heard a qualified plumber can earn £100k+ per annum these days too. There is a massive shortage of them. Also called a "Gas Engineer" if you work on central heating systems. 3yr apprenticeship. Job cannot be sent to China, lots of nice EEC regulations and stuff. If you buy a cooker, you are not even allowed to push in the bayonet fitting connection. It has to be a Corgie approved plumber.

I put in the gas main and central heating in my house, plus rewired it, and built a large brick patio. Must have saved over 5k in VAT alone. I used a CORGI approved plumber to test and approve the plumbing work though. I heard he has since retired. Hence my interest in that trade.
