I agree with your analysis. That's why I don't like the guy AT ALL. However, he couldn't have betrayed the country wrt Osama - there are too many checks and balances in the system for that to happen. The world of spin has always replaced the truth in politics. Do you really think Bush is after Saddam for weapons of mass destruction? Why doesn't North Korea get the same treatment? Why does Pakistan get a pass on supporting terrorism in Kashmir? Politics (world and domestic) is a marriage of convenience where truth is blurred in words. The clinton presidency became a nightmare because republicans chose to make it so. They wanted to throw out a guy for "lying to grand jury and inciting others to lie about an extramarital affair". Was that commensurate punishment for what he did? That was shocking to me. I relate to Bush also just like you do. I was incredibly impressed as to how he "grew up" on 9/11. He is a very likable guy. However, don't be under the impression that he bends truth to his liking whenever he it suits him. That's how all these guys are...
