j42231 has a point. 39 % voted in the recent elections..those who cared AT this moment about the issues THEY cared about enough to even vote. It is the committed turnout of those who cared about the Republicans that got them their wins. (albeit narrow!) The rest may wake up and vote the next time, when it matters to them. Then you might know who really represents the masses.
