Hi,
After spending hours on this, I finally remembered where all the answers are :-)
My problem is no sound.
Soundblaster Live card on a win98SE machine.
Muted the mic in the setting to avoid echoing that started about a week ago in an online paltalk chatroom. They hear me fine now - I just can't hear them.
In the properties window of soundblaster the volume meter in the playback window shows the computer thinks it is playing a CD but I hear nothing.
Also have lost hearing my bootup wav file and sound for windows - email,ICQ included.
This is what I have tried.
Checked all wires
Switched speakers with another system.
Reseated card.
Norton Windoctor found a few invalid shortcuts thats all.
Checked for MSFT updates - downloaded a few security patches.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Judy
