Joe, I did not order XP yet. Meanwhile I need some help regarding testing my pc memory. I tested it using Norton Diagnostics memory test and consistently get...

Testing memory using pattern with all bits cleared...
Error detected at address 234647552
Test: Failed

The pc works ok most of the time. It has 384MB RAM, a 600 MHz processor and Win98SE.

Is there a web site where I can do a RAM test? I would like to get a second opinion. I did the pcpitstop tests, but they don't stress test memory.

PS: it seems to be a Norton problem
Norton Diagnostics' memory test fails and my system has more than 256 MB of RAM

Norton Diagnostics (versions included w/ Norton Utilities up to v5.0) cannot run a memory test on systems having more than 256 MB of memory. This is a limitation of Norton Diagnostics and it is not a problem with your computer's RAM. Symantec is aware of this limitation and the need to increase the memory capabilities of Norton Diagnostics.
