If by "the US" you mean the Bush administration, then you'd be wrong, but that's nothing new. The Bush administration (and the majority of Americans, I'd bet, with the possible exception of those who simply want to be able to say "I told you he'd invade - he's a war-monger") hopes he complies completely, though they would not say the odds are high. You still think Bush "wants to invade Iraq, regardless." Why would they want to do that? To "sieze the oil for his greedy Texas oil buddies"? The reality is that Bush wants to disarm Iraq, regardless - regardless of what it takes to do that. If war is not necessary, there will be no war. If it is, then there will be, and most of the world will support it. It's that simple, now.
