Templeton mentioned Australian and Canadian currencies in passing when he was interviewed some months ago. As far as I know, there wasn't a transcript of the interview available. It was at the same time that he made the extraordinary (for him) suggestion of going short, though I would guess he had in mind protecting gains rather than aggressively speculating on the downside. But he did recommdend shorting, and also getting out of the U. S. dollar. Because he saw what happened to gold when FDR made it illegal, he has always felt gold had too much poltical risk.
