LR, re: I've been waiting for major capitulation in this market to no avail.

It may be premature to write off capitulation. One has to wonder if investors will stay in on the next decline. Already, we have been seeing some talking heads being not completely bullish. On Sunday, there was an article in the SJ Mercury titled "Workers may be losing faith in 401(k)s." It goes on to say " So, far people saving for retirement through 401(k) plans have done what experts hoped they'd do in face of a prolonged bear market: They've held onto their stocks and continued to save.
"But there is troubling evidence that American workers may be losing their resolve while watching their retirement dreams evaporate..."

Whether this article is correct or not, articles like this could fuel a self-fulfilling circle of lack of confidence in the market.
