nobody knows. for all the spreadsheets in the world, we are all still, at bottom, guessing

I agree, you never can know for sure just simply because the future is unknowable. But if I'm going to put my hard earned money down, I'm going to at least take the hour or so it takes to build a spread sheet to see if the price action has diverged from the earnings trend. Otherwise you are simply shorting on price action hoping that the fundamentals are going to deteriorate. Frankly, I like to see some evidence that they are already.

There was plenty of evidence on all these 90% losers that they had deteriorating fundamentals. It showed up for 2-3 quarters in a row before the price action topped. You could argue that people won't pay up for above average growth these days but clearly this isn't true in the case of EXPE. For all I know this company is the biggest POS yet, I don't know because I haven't done an investigation, but then I don't have a position and I'm not arguing either way.

If he was guessing why not say he was guessing? Why make airhead comments in public about the fundamentals about a company when you don't even know what they are? Useless.
