TIA

this is not polite, but scary.

i hear Mr. Poindexter is upping an agency to infringe on our rights.

TIA is Total Information Availability.

the gov is requesting the authority to by-pass the warrant process, again, under the guise of chasing terrorists. c cards, banking history and internet use are some of the areas the gov could keep track of your info without needing a warrent if this goes thru. it does not make sense to me to fight the war on terrorism if we give up our rights in the process.

this would also put a ripple in the CKFR stream. adoption rates will be effected by the portion of the population that will go back to pencil and paper, for communication along with cash for transactions. any reduction in adoption rates will suck.

this is an issue we should give thought to without letting our emotions cloud the issues. i want to give Mo and his ilk all the tools we can to do their jobs. i do think we should look at the long term consequences of a decision of this magnitude.
