This is an interesting situation that has come up. Thank you David
Andry for exposing this material to us on this thread. We need to see
all the evidence (real or otherwise) to make investment decisions on
this patent.

The reference by George Black is interesting and very informative.
the 2nd case that the process being patented must be "novel" is
perhaps the most important. The book states " By "novel," the
Patent Office means that the program as described in the patent
application must be different in at least one of its elements from
previously discovered or known programs."

It seems that it might be easily determined that E-data's process is
different in more than one way and determined at the time that such
was the case to grant the patent. Over and done!
