Good question ... entertaining, but corroboration is another question.

I enjoy the paranoid rants of those who put enough work into it to force us to think about how little accountability there really is. Most gov't statements are smoke and mirrors, and all are self-interested.

A good, scholarly book on knowing falsehoods made by top officials in gov't is "Dependent on DC" by Twight.

The real issue is accountability.
With sufficient transparency and accountability charges like that can be answered.

Otherwise, we're left with what the Founders said was fatal: a "trust me" government.
