Another good report, of a Mayo Clinic study. Good press for HTST, to a target customer group --- mid-year meeting of the National Association of Emergency Medical Services Physicians " ... An abstract of this study [was] published by Dr. White in the July/September 1997 issue of Prehospital Emergency Care ..." " ...The study reported by Dr. White is being conducted as part of a combined police/paramedic defibrillation program in Rochester, Minn., one of the first communities in the United States to train and equip police officers with AEDs. " " ... For the past 30 years, such devices have delivered this energy using a monophasic waveform. In September 1996, the FDA cleared for marketing the Heartstream ForeRunner AED -- the ONLY external defibrillator commercially available in the US that uses biphasic waveform technology.
