This old saying describes David to a tee.
A friend in need is a friend indeed.

David Petty was a highly regarded member here on SI. Many of us are mourning him today, including Anthony.

David considered Anthony as a friend, I know this, because we spoke occasionally about Anthony. David was deeply concern for Anthony's well being when he was jailed in 2000. Knowing David, his letters to Anthony were of a positive nature, it must have been a comfort for Anthony to receive those letters. I also know David sent Anthony at least one book, I wonder if he still has it?

David was a humorous, sensitive, warm, generous, spiritual, gentleman. We should all be grateful to have known him, perhaps Anthony even more, since I believe Anthony and his site benefit greatly by David's presence. Long ago, when I was a member, others told me in confidence that David privately offered or came to their aid (not always trade related). I fully realized David's enormous capacity to Outreach to others when a family member had an accident Easter 2000.

Here is another example how David would Outreach to others:

Would the real Amr Elgindy please stand up?
Are you the one that mocks cancer victims or sympathizes?
Where is the sincerity?

What an outrageous assumption by you, that Anthony would lack sympathy or sincerity on this of all days? His friendship with David was sincere.

David would fearlessly defend his friends if he thought they were being unfairly treated. Although I have my own opinions on some issues, I will defend someone who cared for David and took the time for a tribute.

Jon, you went too far this time with your personal bias view toward Anthony. To use the death of a beloved SI member to enhance your characterization of someone as a purely evil individual is over the top, even for you. Anthony may have had a sixth sense about you. Your last post confirms it, JMHO.
