Looking thru the anals of recent corporate American CEO history one could conclude there are many countryman Americans just like grusum, but much less honest and upfront about it. Like Lay, Ebers, and on and on and on.

Being an American is okay but personally I prefer countrymen like the grusum types, as opposed to the likes of the other. Grusum probably wouldn't knife ya in the back, he'd call ya out in the street and ask you to draw, just like in the old west movies (well some of them).

Speaking of the old west movies a real draw type shootout actually happened in the backwoods town where I grew up, in the early 60's. Just a couple of bushwacker whites fighting over a squaw. One of them got shot in the leg but lived. Poor shots or they were too drunk to aim straight. I thought it was okay, but the town elitists thought it was totally uncivil and a bad image for the town.

Funny thing. When the Nam war started cooking all the sons of the elitists were off in college, or joined the weekend warriors (like GW). Phuck em was my opinion.

Wonder how many sons of hell bent for war DC politicians are in the services these days? Bet damn few.

Got a kick out of Congressman Kerry this last weekend. He acknowledged the Dems got an ass whipping and spoke some common sense (which few Dems do these days). He talked about running for Pres and said let em (Repubs) come after me and call me unpatriotic and less then loyal. I'd welcome it and I'll take em on anyday. He and his buddy McCain would make a good combo. As a pair I think they could kick ass. Maybe they join hands and run together as independents. That would shake the tree right down to the roots imho. A new party and whole bunch of new faces is what this country needs.
