The fact that so many Jews vote Democratic is "against all common sense," quipped Safire, who is Jewish, as the audience laughed. You know, this has puzzled me also Our best friends across the street are Jewish, and very liberal. I've asked her why, and she says the democrats best represent her views. To which I asked, if she liked higher taxes, and the way Fulton county is controlled...(Atlanta proper) and run entirely by democrats. She said, "No, but they do a better job than Republicans would" How does she know? Republicans have never controlled Fulton County! It seems like strange logic to me. I really don't understand why.
