Warner Bros. warns Potter pirates

LOS ANGELES (CBS.MW) -- The appearance of files purporting to be downloadable versions of the newest Harry Potter movie sparked a statement from the film's distributor, Warner Bros.

KaZaa.com, a swapper's Web site, listed half a dozen files titled "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" Wednesday morning. But it could not be verified if any were in fact the film. The Associated Press reported one such file, when downloaded, turned out to be nothing. "Warner Bros. (AOL: news, chart, profile) takes the threat of Internet piracy very seriously and employs all legal means to contain the unauthorized copying on the Internet," the company said. The film opens in some U.S. theaters Friday.
