Hi E. Graphs - Do you ever follow On-Balance volume in your studies? Check out the on-balance volume trend over the past year(s) for LSI and look at the very low number achieved when the October 11, 2002 low was made.

From my work, the on-balance number is a good measure for determining when a stock has bottomed. I also want to see a conformation of a lower low on lower volume. This indicator tells me that all the sellers have thrown in the towel and have finally capitulated. When I am buying a long term (undervalued) position, I try to make my purchases when the OBV is at or near it's long term trend low. I especially like it when the news is negative and both institutions and individuals are dumping the stock.

Many times the shrewd investor can pick up bargains for pennies on the dollar. IMO, OBV is an excellent measure of investor psychology and sentiment.

I believe we are beginning to see this feeling with Sears as well, but it may take a few more weeks (or months) of downgrades and panic selling. I love it when investor's emotions influence their sell decision.
