Regulatory strangulation did that "merger discussion" in. Any new merger or further cost-cutting iniatives on the horizon from ED? The Texas based concern has an advantage unlike many of the rboc's, wage pressures are minimal in their home state, which would lead one to believe that employee consolidation and relocation out of California will be the next step.
Is anyone out there keeping a pulse on this activity?
And is backlash a likely response in the world's 7th largest economy?
