I don't know where the petro guy gets his info. I'm simply giving you the facts re energy use trends in the US over the last few decades. Don't worry about opec, they're a paper tiger. If we ever have a serious dispute with Canada... now THAT would be something to worry about re US energy dependence! If your postion were accurate, the opec countries would never have 'let' oil go to $12/barrel in 1998. The fact is, they were powerless to do anything about it. And they still are.
