If you're shocked that commissions stayed at 6 percent when prices went up, will you be as shocked as some agents will be when prices go down and the old market rate commission is still the market rate? No one compensates agents for drops in income if housing prices decline. And they have to spend more of their income on advertising just to move the houses.
