That's a good question, David.
But I don't argue with my lawyer's fee, or my doctor's fee. I just pay it and try not to take up much of their time, because I'm being billed for every minute and every move they make.

I would really like to have been paid for every minute and every hour and every mile I spent on each and every real estate transaction. I would really also like to have been paid for all the whining phone calls I got at 10 p.m. from emotionally disturbed clients.

Can you imagine what you would say if I said you owed me $100 for every hour I spent writing a long description of your home's every feature (creative writing, in many cases), and $50-$75 for the time I spent entering your listing in the MLS. And each visit I make to your home to pick up agent cards and replenish the supply of brochures, to attend the home inspection on your home, to let in the termite inspector, to attend settlement with you etc., will be $75 per hour.......think about that.
