A I said, there is no evidence that the administration is, in any way, backing off of Lay. The truth may well be that he didn't commit a crime. If he DID, then why aren't the Democrats in California hauling him into court?
Again, it isn't over. I think ultimately Lay will be brought to trial, and likely by the Bush administration. But these investigations are complex and require months, even years. Your criticism of the Bush administration is both unfair and premature.
