Well, I read the release more carefully and the subscriber numbers were right there at the top. Duh. From the release:

Leap reported net customer additions of approximately 45,000, ending the quarter with approximately 1.497 million Cricket® customers and up from the 1.452 million customers that the Company reported as of June 30, 2002.

45K additions not enough to keep me interested.
