EBAY has yet to catch on. ZipRealty used to have their lisings published via Ebay without much success. Don't know about the auction side...

If your home is in an area that has tremendous traffic, nothing wrong with planting a sign out front and seeing what happens. Also, if there are other homes in your area up for sale, that alone will feed traffic to your sign.
If it's a specialty type home, well...get access to the multiple.

Let's face it, there are buyers who tend to view agents as unneccessary, unskilled negotiators, and just get in the way. They would rather negotiate directly with the seller and save on commissions.

Condition, PRICE, and timing are the key no matter the avenue utilized to sell a home.
