You're right, and I think that is what they need to drive home to him.
He sees an open field and runs for it..He gains yardage, but often at the expense of his body.
He is fast enough now to do it, but after a few hits like he has taken, the body will have to slow.

That's why I'm surprised Brett can still take the beatings..in football years as a quarterback, he's no spring chicken.
