Pat, the choice of moving the printer to the other computer was in lieu of installing a print server. . . it just continues to be 'shared' on your network (but on a different computer).

You now have two computers on your network. . . let's say they're named "His" and "Hers".
There is a printer hooked up to "His" and it has been named "HisPrinter" and is 'shareable'.
There is not any printer connected to "Hers" computer right now.

It is elementary that the printer, when moved from His to Hers, that it be able to be used as a printer off that computer. That means, if it needs to be updated with a new driver, YES, it must be done.
Computer, Hers, must be able to print to the printer while NOT on the network in a normal manner.

It is also elementary that you have a place to put the printer near Hers Computer. If you don't, you will have to solve that problem too (new furniture?!). Now I know what you really wanted to do. . . just like needing that new pair of shoes to go with the dress. . . right?

Now, when that's done, you must change the way HisPrinter is shared. . . because it's not on His computer anymore. . . You have to tell the network that the printer is connected to Hers Computer, give it a name (ie: HerPrinter), make it 'shareable' and make sure His and Hers computer is sharing HerPrinter instead of HisPrinter.

Now, I don't know what kind of network you're using, but this should work if you can share printers on various computers on your network (not just on His computer).

Hope this helps. . . If I'm on the wrong track here, I expect to be corrected by someone!

Thank you,
Joe
