I think it's quite possible that there really is nothing wrong with most of these high-paying Canadian energy royalty trusts, at least for the time being, except that very few people follow them, especially in the United States. Also, there is what I learned from painful experience, that quite a number of U. S. royalty trusts ended up as scams being run by their management, even if the originally plan was not to do that. There are some very good U. S. trusts: PBT, SJT, etc.

See Kurt Wullff's site. I have tried to get him interested in Canadian trusts--or rather, I know he follows them but does not analyze them, except for the Canadian Oil Sands trust:
