The only thing missing is owning up to the cost on inaction. ... Or in the war we may have to fight once Saddam get nukes? He does not own up to the true costs of deterrence. exactly the problem with the Nordhaus piece on the "costs of war" in the current New York Review of Books, which I'm sure somebody will post if they haven't already. why is it so difficult for people on all sides to frame their arguments in simple, comparative terms? I just don't know... tb@puzzled.com
