That is good in theory, except that VZ doesn't offer a JVM though BREW. If and when VZ offers a JVM, BREW might make java work better. at this point, brew (through VZ) makes java not work at all. My point is, BREW encloses consumers in a walled garden. VZ customers are at the mercy of VZ in terms of their application choices. Sprint customers can choose to stay in Sprint's walled garden, or they can choose to leave.

Its unfortunate for sprint that they had to set up their own version of applications billing at their own expense. I, however, don't see that as a detriment to the consumer.
