I wouldn't go that far, where there's life there's hope, it's never too late to smarten up, as long as you retain the ability .... there are encouraging signs from time to time, for instance during the mid-90s the US admin du jour helped considerably to clean Nicaragua of the landmines planted by the mid-80s admin .... Colombia yeah that's pretty sick, to deny entirely the root cause of massive US consumer demand combined with draconian prohibition fueling the problem, and then shovel money and arms to selected corruptos .... lots of grey areas there, i'm not so informed on it as with others, but it looks like the wrong place to try finding a faction with clean hands .... the cbc has a page on Colombia - cbc.ca
Venezuela though - last i heard, seven or ten days ago, it appeared that the US-Reich bunch was not screwing up as badly as they did in the 11 april fiasco, rather now making noises to the effect that locals should select their own guvmint ... i know a couple of people there, they've convinced me that indeed Chávez must go, and he will soon, it's just important that the change be made without violence, and by venezolanos themselves
Dubya did himself a huge credit when he went to that mosque ~14.09.01, took off his shoes, and made signs of respect for the useful parts of a belief structure not his own .... just think if he had the power and inclination to issue an abject apology for the attack on Playa Girón and sundry other atrocities, then said to cubanos hey amigos, let's turn the page, juntos podemos |
