pyslent. I completely disagree with your assessment for many reasons. Brew allows easy download of revised versions of both BREW, JME as is necessary due to bugs, updates, etc. Certified brew and JAVA apps will run on all BREW phones from all BREW phone builders wheras, JAVA app writers must write a different program for every JAVA phone. BREW allows for a wireless recall of any application found to be malicious or damaging. Application writers have a sure fire way of getting paid when they write BREW apps -- thus the rush by the likes of SEGA to write BREW apps. BREW app writers will compete to write the best to earn the gold. JAVA is an interpreted and thus slower runnen language than is the C/C++ used for BREW apps -- thus app writers can often have more freedom to write BREW apps. BREW encompases and will run JAVA apps and even download the needed Java Virt Machine if it is not available.

Clearly the Sprint crowd are a bunch of myoptic not-invnted-here cornbreads who, having a jewel in the form of CDMA 2000, choose to drop it in the mud. They are well on their way to giving a sorry performance.

And as a QCOM fan, it pains me to say this, but this is the way I see it.
