Can you be more specific about what you are for outlawing?

Simply make it illegal to have any covert influence of the media with government funds or personnel. Period. It's one thing to openly report anything you wish. It's another to secretly subvert information the public depends on.

There are thousands of public relations people throughout the government agencies.

But more importantly, it response to CIA Director Wm Colby's public assertion in 1975 during the Church Committee that the CIA controls all journalists and editors of consequence in the media. That was decried at the time, but nothing was done about it.

The result of such infection by groups using public funds for hidden agendas means there is no accountability, and the public is at the mercy of abitious leadership promoting their causes, lying and covering their arses. It's gotten so bad that there are hundreds of press releases per day from self-interested government officials, and there is essentially no investigative media.

Think of it as if Microsoft secretly owned "assets" inside all the major news media. You'd get one side of the story, masquarading as "both sides of the story" -- there'd be no real criticism, only pseudo criticism on irrelevent topics to make it look like criticism.

Lack of accountability is a cancer on the government and economy. Every public dollar should be revealed, in realtime, or the agency leadership thrown out.
