Following is a ridiculously sketchy, third-person account of the annual meeting. The meeting did not announce the signing of contracts (sorry, folks). The bulleted items below, however, are worth half a sigh of relief. Attended by 60-70 persons, the meeting featured the announcement of o A Chief Financial Officer, a Mr. Smith who had "retired" from an executive position at a Big-8 accounting firm; and o A 2-day-a-week Executive VP, Bill Lloyd, who will have certain operational responsibilities and who has some background as a "turnaround artist." His 2-day-a-week stint will become full-time as contracts are signed. The Japanese continue to receive product. Ken Kurple is working on a means of quickening the removal of lignin from paper-and-pulp waste (yet another direction for the firm); and seems to have accepted an idea central to wealth-creation: he will do what he does well and let others do the rest.
