I think CH and Poet BOTH got off on it. I've said that before.
Whoa! I didn't know you'd said that!
So the answer is, he enjoyed it.
You have now (and earlier, you say) stated clearly your view that that CH did not dislike, but in fact "got off on" the "social results of his tormenting of Poet... (ie, the reaction it got from observers of it, as it continued, following his threat to sue so he could continue it)... "
That is a huge admission and contribution to ending this discussion.
And it of course explains why he wanted it to continue for so long, and so refused all the public and private efforts to bring him back into the group, preferring instead to perpetuate and extend the horrified and angry reaction his behavior toward Poet (and YYB and me, incidentally) got from observers of it. (And, but this is a side-issue, to enjoy for as long as possible the gratification he derived from the sexual element in the behavior itself.)
It does, of course, entirely eliminate the ostensible reason you gave for allying yourself with him against those who were doing precisely what he "got off on."
Unless you begrudged him his enjoyment.
This exchange is remarkable and changes everything.
