John, the information that Pennsaid could be obtained thru the SAP was obtained by another DMX investor.
This information was given to him in a telephone conversation with an HC person, that started out on the subject of Pennsaid approval. She gave the number 613-941-2108.
I think you're possibly right that usage such as yours lies outside the intent of the program. Still, it seems to me that it's sufficiently bothersome that it's caused you to walk differently - and that can possibly have disruptive future effects. The thing is, you're not asking for a Controlled Substance, here - merely a topical pain killer.
If you have a doctor who's at all sympathetic, perhaps it would be worth asking him. There seems to be a very wide range of practice in this regard: some doctors will see you go through hell before they'll prescribe something different, but potentially helpful; others are open to any reasonable suggestion, and likewise, open to new treatments.
Perhaps those high-speed boats, running from the Caribbean to Nova Scotia, will become a necessary reality for Canadians suffering from a variety of pains.
I know about a dozen people, right now, who would buy Pennsaid at the drop of a hat, if they could get it. Lord, the wait for approval is frustrating, on many levels.
Whatever you choose to do, best of luck.
Regards,
Jim |
