Interesting on IB client growth. This can't be typical of discount brokers, can it? I would asume most are off significantly from their peaks.

I've been considering opening an IB account, but the barrage of complains on the IB thread put me off. As far as I know, IB is the only firm with a combined equties/futures account. That's a very attractive feature. I also like the ability to enter combination orders online, though they are no unique in that respect.

Do the advantages outweigh the problems?

When did IB start? Late 99? One would think that would have been the worst possible time to start an online brokerage, yet they apparently have thrived.
