If you are suggesting that I go speak forcefully to Muslims so they know they can trust me, I'm not sure I want to do that. I expect them to observe how I live my life and how I treat others, and treat me accordingly. I'm not going to seek them out. I'll do business with them should the occasion arise. If they seek me out and treat me decently I will do likewise. Otherwise, I will defend myself.
I'm not sure there are any Muslims in Juneau. No Mosques listed under churches, and there isn't a section in the yellow pages for Mosques. Maybe some of the Filipinos are Muslim. We have lots of them and they are good citizens, although they do love a bargain and try to get one every time which can be annoying if you're not used to it. We have a Sikh or two, which is not even close although they do wear turbans.
The Catholics I know are the best people around. The Bishop here died a few years ago, but they still love his memory and celebrate it often. He supported the local professional theatre, The Perseverance Theatre often stages controversial plays, but that did not deter him.
I put Mormons in the best people around category as well. Some people say LDS is nothing but a cult, but that's ridiculous. They knock on your door from time to time, but they are exceedingly polite and well-dressed.
Mr. Tom, am I imagining things or is your world view evolving? Your arguments and comments sound different lately. |
