strategic leaks like Powell's might serve as the only effective means of providing countering arguments and positions in the face of snowballing presidential and military power, where construction opposition is labeled as "unpatriotic"

some of our policy might be more than a bit twisted
I find that the total break between US view and European view on both the brevity and cost of the war to be starkly revealing

I also find that while US offers a marquee of "War on Terrorism", the entire Middle East (except for Israel) seems to perceive it as "War against Islam"

personally, I call it "The War to Take Islamic Oil"
finally the USA Energy Policy is taking shape
it was nonexistent from 1975 to 1990
then it was simply described as "SUV" ignoring realities
the Policy should be centered on FuelCell research grants and subsidies
but no, "SUV" is now yielding to MidEast Seizures

dont get me wrong
I think US Forces should remove Soddomy from power
he is more than a menace and threat to all his neighbors
but let's be clear about motives for securing Iraqi Oilfields
at first it will be to pay for Soddomy's removal, for Gulf War Reparations, for ongoing Reconnaissance
then (just like USGovt programs), the funds turn direction into General Revenue Streams

e.g. Social Security Trust Fund
