Kerry and Larry, I don't remember any feud between Exxon and IBM, either.

Intel wasn't the only U.S. company that abandoned the DRAM market back in the mid- to late-80s. It was when these companies were exiting the DRAM market in droves, that I bought a few shares of a small U.S. company that still manufactured dynamic memory chips.

That company even printed tiny black and white U.S. flags on the DRAM. It traded on the NASDAQ under the ticker "DRAM" (no kidding).

I bought in 1988 at $20/share. It eventually moved up, did a 2 for 1 split, and later another 2.5 for 1 split. They also moved the listing to the NYSE, and began trading as... MU.
