It is a crime to be a Christian in many Islamic countries punishable by death.
I'm only familiar with Saudi Arabia, which is definitely one of the more extreme cases.

It is not a crime to BE a Christian there; in fact many Christian Westerners still work there and the gov't and muttawa (religious police) know they are Christians.

HOWEVER, it is illegal to possess material espousing any other religion or to PRACTICE any other religion. Since "practice" can be interpreted pretty broadly, it can get close to what you say.

And the dogs outrank the women there.

Towards the other extreme in that area is Tunisia. You can practice whatever religion you wish and women can work and drive and they dress like Western women.
