On my XP Pro PC occasionally Outlook won't open. When this happens in Task Manager Outlook.exe is listed as a process. If I end the process Outlook immediately opens without having to click anything. It only happens after I've opened and closed Outlook. Apparently sometimes when I close Outlook the window closes but the process remains active. I also did like thecow and opened up I pile of IE windows and got the same result, only 1 IE process. I also tried it with Outlook and got the same results. As far as your multi IE processes and my multi Outlook processes apparently it's some kind of bug. Did it happen to you with XP or W2K?
