I think you all you can do is stay in the fray, getting exposure, keep publishing, and get lucky. Who knows what guy on the way up may read something by you, or hear you speak, and think, "I am going to call him when I need him."

I don't think you are a fan of hers, but that is what happened to Jeane Kirkpatrick.
