Re: Why would they want to do that?

Because the momentum for an all-out war against Iraq has fizzled... Do you take the White House's gesticulations at Iraq at face value? Let's face it: there won't be a war on Iraq and Saddam won't be toppled... Of course, you may still call it a "regime change" for, as Secr. of State C. Powell put it, a regime change in Iraq is quite possible WITHOUT the removal of Saddam. However, I'm afraid that scenario just doesn't fit in with Israel's scheme to break the Ramallah-Baghdad axis.

So far the only document outlining a US invasion of Iraq is a NYT "advertorial" that alleged that about 250,000 US troops will be necessary to do the job... But then, look at the map --where will these 250,000 infantrymen be stationed?? Saudi Arabia doesn't want them, Turkey doesn't want them, Jordan? Then king Abdullah and family will have to relocate in Switzerland... even Kuwait doesn't want them. Oh, perhaps the 250,000 GIs will be stationed aboard supertankers refitted as super-troopcarriers? Yeah, that might do the trick! At 10,000 troops per oil-tanker, 25 ships sneaking along the coasts of Iran and Saudi Arabia could make it....

On the broader picture, it's clear that the Judeofascist Moloch --stretching from Moscow to Tel Aviv to Brussels (EU capital) to Washington-- maneuvers to strong-arm the US into an all-out war against Iraq. Why? Because Judeofascists don't want any accomodation of any kind with the Arab/Muslim world, because Israeli Judeofascists don't want to negotiate with the Palestinians on an equal footing --actually, the current Israeli cabinet doesn't even want to talk with the Palestinian leadership.

Worse than that: Moscow and Tel Aviv are presently holding their breaths over the US attitude towards Iraq because a US war against Iraq will give them the greenlight for their own wars against Arabs/Muslims! But Moscow and Tel Aviv can't blink first --they need the American "blessing", and what better blessing than America showing the way? If the US caves in to the Judeofascist blackmail (911), nothing's gonna stop Putin from crushing Chechnya, nothing's gonna stop Sharon from terminating the PLO, and also, nothing's gonna prevent the EU from criminalizing swaths of immigrants, enforcing a Continent-wide police state to mask the European economic decline....

But President G.W. Bush knows better --especially after his personal landslide victory in the mid-term polls. Bush constantly showed that he cares about the Palestinians too. In the wake of 911, Bush still called for a Palestinian state and despite the smear campaign against the Saudis, he nonetheless invited crown prince Abdallah bin Saud to his Crawford homestead. Bush currently enjoys a tremendously powerful clout --he's like Caesar at the circus games: thumbs up and everybody cheers at the emperor's magnanimity... thumbs down and everybody's in awe before his willpower. Bush is in the same situation as Prez J. Kennedy in 1963: very popular (true, JFK was also popular in Europe), holding the upper hand over Congress, and determined to use the US clout as a benevolent, progressive force on the world stage. Likewise, just as the assassination of JFK was the clincher to unlock the confrontation with Communism and an all-out war in Vietnam, the assassination of G.W. Bush might be a similar clincher to unlock a full-blown war against Islam...
