What is a "telecom power system"?
Actually, if memory serves this AM's PR release stated "standby power solution for the telecom industry." This, to me, inherently means non-integrated with the electronic equipment it supports, thus not of a handset/wireless type. And it also could mean many things. Power backup being the biggest that comes to mind. That is, this product could act as a power failure buffer for networking devices like class 5 end office switches, etc. (eg. NT DMS series, LU's 5ESS series as but two examples). These offices currently use, for the most part, lead-acid batteries in conjunction with diesel generators. In some cases that I have seen this literally translates into a bank of car batteries, etc., albeit with refinements. A successfully developed lith-poly phosphate product could definitely have applications in that environment.
And then there are the smaller power back-up applications for PBX, PC, Server support that come to mind. In any event, filing under the category of "the market knows all" VLNC is currently at ~$1.80. An extraordinary run off it's lows of a mere month ago or more. And on larger volume than has been seen in some time. Clearly this collaboration is having an impact. Whether or not VLNC management can translate it into products and earnings....well....as always that's yet to be seen.
