Ticker,
If VLNC confirm that NI plant has started producing at 2 million whr/month for the next 12 months, that would mean an estimated revenue of $48 Million/year, assuming $2/whr. If the plant hits the stated target of 5 Million whr/month for 12 months, estimate a revenue of $120 Million/year. If VLNC contain their expenses at or below $6 Million/qtr, even with the stock dilution in the next one to two quarters, that kind of revenue can support a higher stock price in 2003. From the information published so far, VLNC time line now looks interesting:
(1) PO's from Wistron for the Tablet PC
(2) Technical green light from Acer
(3) PO's from Acer
(4) Chinese govt. approval of JV in early 2003 and announcement of jv details
(5) TYC Telecom power backup testing results and upgrades to their scope of work agreement
(6) USABC testing results and a follow on agreements for evaluation for specific automotive vehicles/products
(7) VLNC specs for a notebook PC battery (from IEEE meeting proceedings) finalized
(8) Fengfan starts producing Saphion batteries in 2004

We do not know when there will be other OEM's, testing agreements, Alliant, and other products such as cylindrical cells.
