The colour/color distinction makes sense, as the french component of the g.w.n. puts in the U, while the hispano component of Occupied México does not .... as for zed/zee, i don't know what the french call it, but hispanos say zeta, so clearly the subjects of DC got twisted around somewhere ..... 'trivial', well perhaps, still that thin red line needs all the defense it can get ... without legislative power the monarchy could be said to be trivial, but we know we're better off trading John Manley for a Bob Dylan CD, than failing to swear allegiance with King William V, and his heirs and assigns, for as long as the rivers shall flow
The -isation/-ization thing i always notice ... properly it is of course realisation, hard to say how those poor sods down there got sent off the track ... trivia factoid though - the US national Noah Webster got to determine the spelling of the word 'demoralization', as he invented it, presumably in a moment of the failing of his fine scots heritage .... to my knowledge, no one has to date put out a comprehensive work on the deeper meaning and implications of why this term should be so uniquely US, so that remains as a thesis topic |
