I still think that the tablet PC for which VLNC is supplying the battery through Wistron is for the Xplore iX104-TPC which is a rugged (Suppose to withstand dropping on concrete etc.) tablet pc in production now. Their specs include "lithium ion phosphate battery" coming in two sizes (A 4500 mAh Li Ion Polymer Phosphate (28 Whr)standard and a 9000 mAh Li Ion Polymer Phosphate 56 Whr optional). This PC is scheduled to ship in January 2003.

I do not think either of the two Tier 1 companies announced during the C.C. as having given the "technical green light" are contained within the Wistron announcement. We should hopefully therefore be hearing further in regards to those negotiations. I do not believe that the current announcements can be construed as implying that the plant in N.I. is presently running at anything near capacity. Only a Tier 1 P.O. will move us forward to that level.

Today's announcement bears testimony to Stephan's comment during the C.C. that movement on the "large format batteries was proceeding faster than had been expected". This is still a very forward looking announcement and although inspiring, it does not contribute to the bottom line anytime soon.
